THE SEASON OF SNOW

Winter in Korea is usually between December to February. The lowest temperature and the coldest month falls in January ranging between - 10 to 3 degree Celsius.

WHAT TOΒ BRING

  • Heat wear (Uniqlo is the best choice)
  • Winter Coat
  • Thick shirt or jumper
  • Jeans/skirts/ thick leggings good to go
  • Knitted scarf
  • Gloves
  • Ear cover
  • Beanies
  • Socks (wool is the best)
  • Winter Boots (Ugg or similar)
  • Sport shoes also wearable but sometimes the road is slippery
  • Vaseline (you will experience crack on your hand and leg)
  • Body lotion

WINTER

Winter is the best time to travel if you are keen to sense a cold ambiance with beautiful snowfall. Prepare your self with thick coat with ugg boots to travel around as it is know as the coldest season of all. In Winter, the day usually shorter with the sunrise occurring later and sunset occurring earlier.

Travelling with public transport during winter is not a problem unless in the event of heavy snow or other unusual weather.

In rural areas, arable land is left to rest until farming resumes in the spring while some vegetables are grown in vinyl greenhouses. A unique practice in the winter between November and December is gimjang which is the preparation of large quantities of kimchi to eat throughout winter.
